I am a psychiatrist providing OHIP-insured mental health care to adults in downtown Toronto.
Please note that I am not accepting new patients.
The office will be closed from June 5 to September 4, 2017.
A referral letter from a family doctor is not required.
A brief screening interview by phone may be required before scheduling a first appointment.
The office is on the main floor at 644 Richmond St West. (MAP)
The office is close to stops on the Queen and Bathurst streetcar routes.
Tuesday to Thursday, 12:00 noon – 6:00 pm, by appointment only.
Sessions are not done by phone or other media.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The first appointment is a psychiatric assessment and is usually 90 minutes.
Recommendations can include psychotherapy, medication and referrals to other services.
Psychotherapy appointments are usually once a week for 50 minutes.
OHIP COVERAGE & MISSED APPOINTMENTS
Psychiatric services are covered by OHIP provided you have an Ontario Health Card and keep appointments.
Missed appointments are not covered by OHIP, regardless of the reason.
You are responsible for payment (sliding scale) if you cancel appointments with less than 48 hours notice.
Further appointments will not be scheduled if you cancel frequently or do not show up for appointments.
Assessments for legal or insurance matters are not done here.
Prescriptions for stimulants, opiates, cannabis and mood-stabilizers are not provided here.
Information discussed here is confidential unless you sign a consent for release of information.
Exceptions to confidentiality include situations where there is an immediate threat to physical safety or child welfare.
